ESU awards 2010
November 9 was an important day at the iT's office because three of us weren't at the office. We were on our way to Buckingham Palace to collect two awards for our work on Global, the new adult English course from Macmillan.
Apart from working on its-teachers, three of us have been working on an innovative new adult course which has just won two prestigious awards. Lindsay Clandfield, who has been writing for iT's for many years, is the lead author on Global, the new adult course from Macmillan. Rather than including a traditional workbook, the course has an eWorkbook which includes interactive exercises, plus audio and video material which students can access on their computers or download onto other devices. iT's editor Robert Campbell has scripted and directed all the original video and audio material as well as writing video worksheets for the BBC documentaries that are included in the eWorkbook. Rob Metcalf, the third regular iT's writer, is also an author on the eWorkbook.

After presenting the ESU President's Award for the Global eWorkbook, the Duke of Edinburgh talks with the team. Here Rob Metcalf is talking to Prince Philip with Robert Campbell on his right. Julie Moore (left) is another of the eWorkbook authors. Matt Beesley (right) was responsible for the design and for making the whole thing work.
