guide to using its-myworld

Projects: blog, my city, fan page

Students can add more pages to their site by completing one of the projects that can be accessed by selecting one of the links on the left.

All of the projects work in the same way as the welcome page. Students complete a template and upload their own photographs or choose images from the its-myworld archive.

Blog
Students can use the blog to create an online journal in English. When they add a new blog they can write an entry for the current day or a particular day in the past. They can also describe how they're feeling, what they're reading, and what they're listening to. Each time they add a new blog entry it is added to their blog.

My City
In this project your students can create an online guide to their own city or another city of their choice. They can also search for other city guides created by its-myworld users around the world.

Fan Page
Students can create a page dedicated to someone they admire. Apart from completing a fact file about the person, they can write a short biography of the person and explain why they admire them.

When a project is completed, people visiting the student's home page will also be able to see their project work.

It is best to do these projects in three stages, possibly over three different classes.
1. Introduce the topic and encourage students to do some research on the Internet or by consulting books and magazines.
2. Use the information they have found to write their own texts.
3. Transfer the texts they have written to the its-myworld Internet site.
