Teacher alerts
The iT's Teacher Alerts is a free email service that advises teachers of important or interesting forthcoming dates that can be linked to a classroom activity. Each Alert includes a quick activity that needs no preparation. The Alert also includes a link to the website where teachers can access a more complete activity (also free for the duration of the Alert). These activities are either available as PDF downloads with accompanying teaching notes, or interactive exercises.
The alerts are sent out whenever an event is about to take place rather than on a particular day of the week. The shorter activities included in the alert email message can be used (or easily adapted to be used) with all student levels. The longer activities at the website are for different student levels as indicated in the level key.
We try to include alerts for important dates such as Earth Day as well as more unusual days and events such as World Jump Day or the opening of a new film.
The iT's Teacher Alerts is a free service. Subscribers to the Teacher Alerts also receive the its-online newsletter. Each newsletter includes additional activities and news about our sites and publications. To receive the alerts, choose the Newsletter and alerts link on the left and complete the form.
