Penpal Exchange

Your students can find penpal messages from other students around the world at the its-myworld site. Use this page if you want to set up a penpal exchange with another school, or would like more information about our penpal service.

If you would like to set up a penpal exchange with another teacher, you can either view the messages that have been posted and contact someone by e-mail, or add a message of your own and wait for someone to contact you. All the messages are divided into two student age groups: 12 to 17, and 18+. Choose one of the links below to go to the appropriate page.

To help protect our users' privacy, email addresses are only visible to its-teachers subscribers. If you are not already a subscriber then follow this link to subscribe.

Penpals

If your students would like to find an e-mail penpal (keypal) at its-myworld, they can either view the messages that have been posted at the site and contact someone by e-mail, or add a message of their own and wait for someone to contact them. To help protect your students' privacy their email addresses will only be visible to its-myworld subscribers. All the penpal messages at its-myworld are divided into two age groups: 12-17, and 18+. Follow this link to go to the main penpals page at its-myworld.

Using the penpal service

All the penpal messages at its-teachers and its-myworld are approved before they are displayed at the sites. This can take up to 24 hours. If you want a class of students to write messages then please use this teacher exchange section. Alternatively, get the students to add their messages at its-myworld over several days or weeks so that they do not submit their messages at the same time. Bulk messages from classes that are submitted at the same time will not all be posted at the site.

Please make sure that your students are aware of the risks involved in communicating with people over the Internet. They should not include their home addresses or telephone numbers in any messages and should report any inappropriate responses. If you or your students experience any problems while using this service please let us know so that we can make the site more secure for other users.

If you have any questions about using the penpals section, please contact us.
